The Five Animal Frolics (五禽戏)
Wu Qin Xi (五禽戏), commonly translated as The Five Animal Frolics, is an ancient system of QiGong developed by the famous physician in Chinese medicine named Hua T’o (110-207CE) in 2nd century C.E.
As a series of postures utilizing the characteristics of five animals, this system mimics the ferocity of the tiger, peacefulness and suppleness of the deer, strength and calmness of the bear, agility and playfulness of the monkey, and lightness and dexterity of the crane to focus the mind, body and spirit.
Practitioner should be practice this QiGong system twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening.
This system of QiGong should not be confused with The Five Element which is totally different QiGong system
